EVOKING PRIDE — PRIVATE MENTORSHIP

Train the way you think, respond, and act.

Ongoing one-to-one mentorship with Dana Korn, built around your goals, your circumstances, and the situations that matter to you.

We create a personal training plan, examine the patterns affecting your decisions, and practice the skills you want to use in your life and work.

Choose your plan. Begin with a clear goal. Continue as your needs evolve.

Your goals shape the work.

You may be preparing for a performance, navigating a difficult negotiation, becoming more visible in your industry, or trying to follow through on decisions you keep postponing.

You may want to communicate with greater confidence, respond more deliberately under pressure, or develop a more sustainable way of working.

We begin with what matters now.

Your plan can address situations such as:

  • Presenting yourself, your work, or your ideas.
  • Preparing for performances, interviews, meetings, and public appearances.
  • Initiating professional relationships and navigating networking.
  • Negotiating, setting boundaries, and having difficult conversations.
  • Working through self-doubt, perfectionism, and hesitation around visibility.
  • Maintaining direction when motivation fluctuates or results take time.
  • Recognizing overload and adjusting your workload, routines, and expectations.

As your circumstances change, we review the plan and choose the next focus together.

What we can work on

The combination depends on your goal.

Cognitive debugging

Learn to notice the assumptions, predictions, and internal rules influencing your choices.

We examine how you interpret a situation, distinguish observations from assumptions, and test alternative ways of approaching it.

“Debugging” is a metaphor for examining your thinking and practicing more useful responses.

Emotional regulation

Build skills for recognizing emotional reactions and choosing what to do next.

This may include preparing for pressure, responding to frustration, staying engaged during disagreement, or regaining perspective after a setback.

Body awareness

Notice the physical signals that accompany pressure: tension, changes in breathing, pace, posture, and attention.

Practice ways to prepare yourself for a demanding situation and remain present while it unfolds.

Behavior and communication

Rehearse the actions your goal requires.

Practice making a request, expressing disagreement, introducing yourself, discussing terms, making a decision, or taking a step you have been avoiding.

Together, we develop a way of communicating and acting that reflects how you want to show up.

How we train

Each session starts with a situation that matters to you.

1. Identify the situation

What is happening? What do you need to handle differently? What would a useful outcome look like?

2. Understand the pattern

We examine your interpretation, emotional and physical reactions, usual response, and the consequences of that response.

3. Debug the assumptions

We question the predictions and internal rules shaping the situation. What are you treating as a fact? What could be tested? What is within your influence?

4. Rehearse a different response

We practice the thinking, words, and actions you want to use. This can include role-play, preparation for a conversation, or repetition of a specific skill.

5. Apply it in real life

You leave with a focused action or exercise connected to your goal.

6. Review and adjust

We examine what happened, what helped, and what needs more practice. That experience informs the next session.

Build agency through practice.

Agency means having more capacity to make choices and act on them in the situations that matter to you.

We define progress through observable changes.

Your focusExamples of progress we can track
Self-presentationIntroducing yourself clearly and explaining your work without avoiding the conversation.
NegotiationStating your terms, asking questions, and responding deliberately to pushback.
DecisionsComparing options, choosing a next step, and following through.
Pressure and setbacksRecognizing your response, using a practiced strategy, and returning to a chosen action.
Sustainable workRecognizing overload earlier and making practical adjustments to priorities and routines.

These are examples. We choose indicators that fit your circumstances and review them together.

The work includes learning how to maintain and use these skills independently.

How you begin

Choose your plan

Start with four sessions, a monthly plan, or six months of ongoing mentorship.

Your first session is included in your plan.

Complete your introductory questionnaire

Before we meet, you describe your current situation, your main challenge, what you have already tried, and the change you would like to see.

This gives our first conversation a clear starting point.

Your first session — 60 minutes

We use the first meeting to:

  • Clarify your main goal and the situation behind it.
  • Define what a useful, observable change would look like.
  • Identify the thinking and behavior we need to examine.
  • Build an initial plan for our work.
  • Choose a first action or practice task.

Where useful, we begin practicing a small part of that task during the session.

Leave with a direction and a next step

You leave knowing what we are working toward, where we will begin, and what to practice before we meet again.

Your plan develops as we learn more from your experience.

The learning that supports your practice

Your mentorship includes selected learning materials assigned to support your current goal.

Depending on the task, these may cover:

  • Automatic thoughts, assumptions, beliefs, and internal rules.
  • The relationship between interpretation, emotion, and action.
  • Attention, stress responses, and ways to regulate your state.
  • Self-presentation, communication, and boundaries.
  • Learning from practice, feedback, and setbacks.

Assigned materials are part of your work between sessions. We use them to build a shared understanding and prepare you for the next stage of practice.

You receive the material relevant to your plan, with a clear reason for using it.

A working relationship that develops with you

Like working with a personal trainer or a vocal coach, you build skills through guided practice, feedback, and repetition.

At one point, we may focus on public appearances. Later, the priority may become communication with your team, a difficult decision, or maintaining direction during a demanding period.

We review your progress, adapt your training, and decide what deserves attention next.

You can renew your plan and continue working together for as long as the arrangement remains useful to you.

Continuity when something important comes up

An active mentorship plan gives you an established way to request support from someone who already knows your context.

If an important meeting, difficult conversation, or unexpected change requires focused preparation, you can contact me through our agreed channel and request a priority session.

We can bring that situation into the work, clarify the immediate objective, and practice your next response.

Priority requests follow the service hours, availability, and booking terms agreed for your plan.
